Lakeside Occupational Medical Centers, Inc., Southwest and Central Florida’s most respected resource for occupational health services announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Mainstreet Physicians, Regency Family Medical Center, Lakepoint Family Medical Center and Ocoee Family Medical Center, all around metro Orlando. Along with Lakeside’s existing North Orange Blossom Trail location, opened last year, this now provides the most comprehensive footprint in Orange County to serve employers occupational medicine needs.
The financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed. All employer contracts, terms, and insurance contracts will continue to be honored. The effective date of the transition to Lakeside was November 13, 2009.
The four clinics acquired included common majority ownership by Diana Gauchat, a long-time business leader in Orlando, and Dr. Arlene Palazzolo who also serves as the Medical Director for all FMC clinics. Dr. Palazollo has agreed to stay on with Lakeside, providing continuity of care for employers.
Diana Gauchat, President of Family Medical Centers stated, “It was our interest to continue to provide our employer clients and the community the highest quality of care and service going forward. We had received expressed interest from several companies but because of their extraordinary reputation we selected Lakeside to acquire these clinics.” Added Gauchat, “Lakeside has been doing this for 30 years, is very strong financially and was prepared to make further investments in the business. In this economic time, this will be great for the employers and employees in Orange County.”
Lakeside provides prompt treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses at all of its clinic locations and is recognized by all insurance guarantors and managed care networks. In addition to daily walk-ins, this includes 24/7 phone triage with an on-call medical provider. Additional services offered include drug screening, physical exams, exposure monitoring screening & testing, training programs, immunizations, consultations and on-site staffing.
According to Fred Nussbaum, Lakeside’s CEO, “We are delighted to be able to add these four clinics at this time to Lakeside’s ‘Corridor of Care’ extending Lakeside’s current coverage of care to 14 occupational medical centers. This represents the largest commitment to Occupational Medicine in the state of Florida.” Nussbaum added, “We had been consistently invited by employers, municipal entities, and guarantors in Orange County over the last several years to come over and fill a void and to bring the same high quality of care and service that we are known for in the Tampa Bay Area to Orlando. Well, we are here in earnest now and look forward to delivering on these expectations for many years to come.”
